About the

Advanced Dentistry Institute

The Advanced Dentistry Institute

was started by Dr Yohan Thomas in 2013 to enable general dentists to gain advanced dental skills working on live patients.

ADI courses comprise intensive one-to-one mentorship typically for multi-day courses and group training for one-day events.

In addition to Dr Thomas, ADI attracts expert dental educators from around the world, handpicked for their technical expertise and teaching skills.

ADI graduates gain university-level knowledge and skills that they can implement in their practice immediately upon completion.

The Advanced Dentistry Institute is recognised as one of the leading course providers in Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Thomas, the Prosthodontic Mentor, has  taught and guided students at Adelaide Dental School for more than a decade. He has also been a mentor/tutor with the James Cook University Graduate Diploma in Implantology program.

Throughout, Dr Thomas’ students regularly comment on his commitment to mentorship beyond just delivering education in a formal setting.  The impact is a much greater implementation in the student’s practices of what they’ve learned.

Dr Thomas’s passion is to teach and train the next generation of dentists and guide them in the best way possible.  His philosophy is that there is no substitute for practical hands-on learning in dentistry and that practice and constant learning makes us better than yesterday.

Dr Thomas has been working in specialist private practice in Adelaide and Rural South
Australia for over 16 years. He has taught and lectured internationally.

He is the course director at Advanced Dentistry Institute, constantly working on ways to help improve the learning process from theory to practical hands-on. He loves interacting and guiding dentists and says he himself is always learning something from every day.
